Tessa Mahan

MFT, RTC

Tessa oversees the clinical programs offered at Therapeutic Solutions. She enjoys being a part of a team that helps change peoples’ lives in meaningful ways. Tessa earned a Master of Science in Psychology in the Marriage & Family Therapy Program and a Bachelor Arts in Recreations & Park Management with an option in Therapeutic Recreation from CSU, Chico. She has worked with thousands of patients over the years in outpatient and inpatient settings.

She counts it an honor for her patients to allow her into their lives on such a personal level that allows for truly therapeutic work to occur. She loves joining with people and helping them meet their goals. She strives to give patients the ability to take control of areas in their life they would like to change.

Tessa believes the therapist is a consultant who collaborates with the person and that the true expertise lays within the person who comes for help. She gives her clients unconditional positive regard, empathy, and respect, along with enthusiasm, compassion, and a belief that everybody can change.

Community involvement is an important part of Tessa's life. She works with programs that support senior citizens and those that bring awareness to the community about mental illness. In her off time, Tessa loves to bike ride, compete in triathlons, garden, and spend time in the outdoors.
